Many Christians today believe the mark of the beast will be a microchip or some form of technology. However, when we let the Bible interpret itself, a completely different picture emerges. Revelation 13:16-17 tells us that the mark will be required for buying and selling, and it will be placed in the right hand or forehead. But what does this symbolize? The Bible uses the forehead to represent the mind and decision-making (Deuteronomy 6:6-8, Ezekiel 3:8-9). The hand represents actions and work. Therefore, the mark in the forehead represents a conscious decision to accept a false system of worship, while the mark in the hand represents going along with it for economic reasons, even if you don't fully believe it. The real issue is WORSHIP. Revelation 14:9-11 warns against worshiping the beast and receiving his mark. The opposite of this is found in Revelation 14:12 - those who keep the commandments of God and have the faith of Jesus. The fourth commandment is the only one that deals with worship and contains God's seal (His name, His title, and His territory). It commands us to "Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy" (Exodus 20:8-11). History reveals that the papacy changed the day of worship from Saturday (the seventh-day Sabbath) to Sunday (the first day of the week). This change was made by human authority, not divine authority. The Catholic Church openly admits this in their catechisms. When Sunday laws are enforced worldwide, requiring worship on Sunday contrary to God's command to keep the seventh-day Sabbath holy, those who knowingly choose to obey man rather than God will receive the mark of the beast. The seal of God is Sabbath observance - keeping holy the day God made holy. The mark of the beast is Sunday observance - accepting a day made holy by human tradition rather than divine command. This is not about salvation by works, but about loyalty and worship. Whom will you obey - God or man? The choice is yours, but the time to decide is now, before the crisis comes.
